Heymann and Schaffhouser Impress at Penn

Sophomore Mike Heymann broke a 33 year old school record and qualified for NCAA's automatically with a 59 second personal best. Mike ran a 30:15.72 to place 9th in the collegiate division at the Penn Relays. Mike had a great battle with up to 10 runners throughout the race. Mike's last mile was his fastest mile of the race as he negative split his 5k's in 15:12 and 15:03. Just one year ago, Mike's best 5k was only 7 seconds faster.

Junior Jenny Schaffhouser ran a two minute personal best to qualify provisionally for NCAA's at the Penn Relays. Jenny is currently ranked 15th in division III. Jenny was unfortunate to find herself between two packs, she was tough enough though to run an even pace (18:17, 18:17 for her two 5k's) all by herself.

Also competing for Plattsburgh were the men's and women's 4x400m relay team. The men's team ran a 3:21 and the women's team ran a 4:09. Both teams were within the realm of their season best. The women's team won their heat.
