WICKED WEATHER
Published by
I know this is kind of a strange blog to start off with but it is something that we have to deal with in this part of the country that not everyone realizes happens. So far this season we went from our first meet being delayed a day due to sub freezing temps and snow, our next meet was then 30 mph winds and 40 degrees, the next one in the high 40's and a little windy. This past weekend it was 95! Now I just witnessed the strangest day, lucky for the team it was not a workout day. On tuesday April 28th, we started the day hot and humid, the temperature actually reach 80 degrees by 2 pm which is when practice started. As soon as practice started the winds and rains picked up, by the end of practice it was 60. By the time the sun dropped it was 40. Up in the northeast getting good weather at a meet is unpredictable, and very rare. I am very thankful that our school is located in northern New York where we experience the most unpredictable weather, this way when we do attend a meet further south in NY, PA, NJ, or MA their weather is nothing compared to ours and we can have a bit more of a positive attitude than other schools.
I do hope to eventually be blogging on training, competition etc. in the future.
